Some of the most successful people in the world are those who set goals. One of the reasons they accomplish so much more, and a lot quicker than others, is because they know where they are going. They are absolutely clear about their goals and their destination in life. Only about 3% of people have clear written goals set for their future. These people accomplish more, and make more money than the other 97% combined. Most people don’t plan to fail, they just fail to plan.

So let me walk you through these five steps to get you moving.

[ Ready?.....Do you have a pen and some paper?..... ]

*** STEP #1  -  IDENTIFY YOUR GOALS:

Start out by having a BIG dream, create a vision so strong you can see every detail. Decide exactly what it is that you would love to have or create for your life. Make a quick list of 3 to 5 goals you would like to accomplish this year. Now select the ONE goal that if achieved would have the greatest impact on your life.

[ Do you have it picked out?..... ]

*** STEP #2  -  WRITE IT DOWN:

When you write your goal down, you crystallize it and you give it a tangeable form. You create something you can actually touch and see. When writing your goal down take time to visualize it, write it out in detail. Write the goal down as though you have already made it happen. A goal that is not in writing is merely a wish or fantasy.

Here’s an Example: I’m driving a brand new beautiful white BMW with heated leather seats etc…

[ Alright.....Do you have it all written down?..... ]

*** STEP #3  -  SET A DEADLINE:

A goal without a deadline creates no urgency and will cause you to procrastinate and eventually give up. You can set long range goals and short range goals using these same simple steps to break them down.

[ Ok.....Do you have your deadline picked out?..... ]

*** STEP #4  -  PLAN OF ACTION:

Now… you have your goal, you have it written down (in detail), and you have your deadline. With a written goal and a plan of action you will be far more productive than someone who is carrying his goals around in his head. In this step let’s make a list of what you have to do to achieve your goal and then organize your list by priority and break it down into bite size pieces.

Here’s an example: Let’s say that your deadline is l year. Break that down into 3-90 day goals. (keep in mind that you build momentum, so your first 90 day goal might be less than the third 90 day goal.) Now break each 90 day goal into 3 months and set a goal for each month. Then take each month and break it into 4 weeks, so you now have a goal for each week.  And finally take each week and divide it up into the days you plan to work and now you have what once seemed like a Hugh Chunk, broken down into little pieces that you can easily swallow each day.

[ This action might take you a little bit longer.....but let's get to it!..... ]

*** STEP #5  -  TAKE ACTION:

Do something everyday to move yourself toward your goal. For you to achieve any kind of success, execution is everything. You may have MAJOR obstacles or even a MOUNTAIN to climb to reach this goal. You may need to learn new skills, gain more knowledge, find the right people to partner with, and choose someone to MENTOR you. Now all you have to do is start moving and keep moving! Know what you want and work toward it everyday.

Learn these 5 steps, and this discipline alone can dramatically increase your speed of goal accomplishment and boost your personal productivity.

Others may be able to  stop you temporarily, but you are the only one who can do it permanently!!

[ Now get out there and make your dreams come true..... ]  :-D
